Job Description:
Job Title: J1 Career trainee in small business administration
The trainee will receive practical training in all aspects of operating a business. Among the many theoretical business applications learned, they will be able to apply those skills to actual implementation. The trainee will drive along a predetermined route selling, preparing and serving ice cream to customers in various neighborhoods. The trainees’ objective is making high sales every day you work.
2007 Career Trainees were from Argentina, Ecuador, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Russia, and Turkey
Before accepting any applicant to the program :
The applicant must:
Must have resume approval from our DS provider.
Have a telephone interview OR Msn Messenger Q &A with J1 manager.
No applicant will be accepted into the program without having these requirements met.
Typical Work Schedule:
The workweek: 4days per week minimum.7 days per week maximum. 4 to 6 days per week average, 5 days per week being the norm. The workday is 10 to 12 hours a day.
Start time: 12 noon
End time: 11 pm.
Stipend:
$280.00 per week plus sales commission/bonus and return home bonus
The Stipend of $ 280.00 is based on Career trainee working 4 days per week.
The pay period is every two weeks.
Sales commission/ bonus are paid at end of successful completion of season.
The Sales commission/ bonus are based on Career trainee weekly gross sales.
The average Sales commission/bonus earned (accumulated) is between $120.00 to $520.00 weekly.
The average trainee weekly earnings of stipend and sales commission/bonus combined is between $400.00 to $800.00 per week.
A Typical Day:
The Career trainee arrives at office around noon. He gets his order sheet and looks on his truck to see what supplies he will need for the day. He goes into the supply office and gets his supplies for the day. After he loads the truck, He is ready to start his day. He then drives out to his assigned route and begins selling the ice cream going from one neighborhood to the next. The Career trainee will apply theoretical lessons to actual business situations. About 10:pm the Career trainee will drive back to the office, clean the truck, take inventory, Cash out and go home or socialize with the other Career trainees. Career trainees will maintain a neat appearance at all times. Uniforms will be supplied. (T-shirts and baseball caps). The Trainee will be assigned to work at the facility in either Runnemede or Trenton, New Jersey.
Housing and Area Description
The Trainee will be working and living in either the facility in Runnemede or Trenton, New Jersey.
In Runnemede:
The Career trainee will be living at the Presidential apartment complex, located in downtown Runnemede, New Jersey. This apartment has two bedrooms, 1bathroom, eat-in kitchen, and a large living room and dining room. This housing is provided by employer free of charge. Spaces are limited and on a first come basis, depending upon availability and does not guarantee each employee a space. 3 to 4 Career trainee per bedroom.
The apartment complex is located directly across the street from the employer’s office. Trainees will be within walking distance
to shopping centers, restaurants, nightclubs, public transportation, and various cultural activities.
The town of Runnemede is best described as Suburban.
In Trenton:
The Career trainee will be living in a “New York Style Loft” apartment in Trenton, New Jersey. This apartment has three bedrooms, 1bathroom, eat-in kitchen, and a large “open floor plan type” living/dining room and boasts 10 ft ceilings. This housing is provided by employer free of charge. Spaces are limited and on a first come basis, depending upon availability and does not guarantee each employee a space. 3 to 4 Career Trainees per bedroom.
The apartment is located across the street from the Trenton Facility. Trainees will be within walking distance
to shopping centers, restaurants, public transportation, and various cultural activities.
The city of Trenton is the state capital of New Jersey and is best described as Urban.
There is a $300.00security deposit required paid up front to live in the apartments. Security deposits are returned at the end of the season.
All interior furnishings are from IKEA.
No meals are provided. All meals and food are responsibility of student.

Runnemede is 20 minutes from Philadelphia Pa., 50 minutes from Atlantic City and the Jersey shore, 2 hours from New York City, Washington DC. Philadelphia International Airport is 30 minutes from Runnemede.JFK International Airport in New York is 2 hours from Runnemede. Approximate travel cost from airport is $35.00 by bus, $55.00 by train.
Trenton is 50 minutes from Philadelphia Pa., 50 minutes from the Jersey shore, Belmar ECT. , 45 minutes from New York City by train. In addition, Philadelphia International Airport is 60 minutes. Newark International Airport is 30 minutes and JFK International Airport in New York is 90 minutes. Approximate travel cost from airport is $35.00 by bus, $55.00 by train.
Job Requirements:
1) Must have valid International Driver License and or National Driver License.
2) Must speak and read English. (Medium level minimum)
3) Excellent driving skills.
4) 1 year total and or combined prior work experience in general sales or any business related field.
5) Must have completed some form of post-secondary school and received some form of completion certificate or degree in any field of study. (Any business or food service management field of study preferred but not mandatory). This could include an Academy, Institute, College or University. |
